Another system is to assemble client devotion which will give solid thoughts on what the clients need. Essential exploration strategies, for example, center gatherings where direct suppositions can be picked up from the clients despite the fact that it is just a set number of individuals studied. Optional information can give all the more a greater image of what the client needs despite the fact that occasionally it may not be as legit as having center gatherings. Along these lines of exploring will show new patterns in the clients taste and decision. This can be improved by making divisions which will focus just on the client connections along these lines online assistance can be increasingly steady towards the clients. Changing or modifying the manner in which the association is organized is another focus on Microsoft. Group working is significant in this kind of association and the groups in the organization ought to regularly be remunerated for their endeavors. People will not be compensated on the grounds that this will in general split the collaborate into people and this implies there would be a type of rivalry between the laborers. Lattice structure is proper for Microsoft particularly when an organization will in general have a wide range of divisions. This would group taking a shot at another level, the groups will be truly adaptable and will help out laborers from different divisions. Along these lines a culture of group working and coordinated effort is made in the association and the capacity to deal with various undertakings gives a tremendous assortment to the work which will expand staff inspiration. Microsoft are continually hoping to locate the most ideal approach to improve their items by staying up with the latest from the client studies however when you have the specialists from every division the item will in general be significantly more improved and forward-thinking. Settling on choices is regularly extremely troublesome particularly when you are in charge of a colossal association such Microsoft. Lapsing the force or dynamic from the top will surely take a ton of weight off the top supervisory crew. Making another layer in the middle of the various leveled requests of company’s structure will include and persuade different laborers who will be roused in light of the fact that they get the opportunity to settle on significant choice in specific territories of the association. Another inspiration in this is whoever settles on the choice a group or an individual will consistently imagine that the top administrative group is depending on his/hers or their choices. This inspires laborers as well as it causes them to convey and improve relational abilities in the system of this. This would be an extraordinary method of parting significant choices in the organization on the grounds that the weight is removed the supervisors and imparted to the remainder of the workforce, obviously the more significant choices like putting the organization as stake or a hazard will consistently be down to the most noteworthy positioned individuals however this is a powerful method to persuade and simultaneously ease the heat off the fundamental individuals in the organization. The Cask Of Amontillado By Edgar Allan Poe - 1076 Words

The short story, The Cask of Amontillado, written by Edgar Allan Poe is a story of terror and betrayal. Like many of Poe’s literary works, the story has a dark undertone with a theme of terror and depression. More than half a century ago, Marshall McLuhan argued that though Poe was fascinated by evil, the evil that he had in mind was not that of Calvinism, but that of the split man and the split civilization. In general, McLuhan was right, but in this instance Calvinism, and its God, provided a dark level of meaning to the tale. (Graham, 88) The threat of being buried alive is both a psychological fear and a historical reality that Edgar Allan Poe capitalizes on, ambiguously. The story begins with the narrator, Montresor, being insulted by Fortunato and plotting revenge for the act. Montresor decides to use Fortunato’s love of wine against him in his plan to get revenge. Montresor approaches Fortunato at a carnival, dressed in all black and hiding behind a mask. He offe rs Fortunato a drink that could pass as Amontillado, which is a type of Spanish wine. Fortunato is tricked into Montresor’s wine cellar, curious to taste the wine. Upon entering the cellar, Fortunato begins to cough, and steps on a serpent, crushing the head with his heel but does not want to leave. The implicit reference to Genesis 3:15 has been noticed by critics, who have been quick to see Montresor as the serpent; however, if Montresor is God s agent (acting for his love), then he is not the serpentShow MoreRelatedThe Cask of Amontillado by Edgar Allan Poe888 Words   |  4 PagesThe Cask of Amontillado by Edgar Allan Poe In ?The Cask of Amontillado?, Edgar Allan Poe takes us on a trip into the mind of a mad man. Discussion Of Waiting For Godot Essay Example For Students

Discussion Of Waiting For Godot Essay Samuel Beckett s Waiting for Godot is a play without meaning. Vladimir (Didi) and Estragon (Gogo) go on for pages with meaningless jibber-jabber. The setting is an obscure place with no distinguishable characteristics; there is only a tree and a road to decorate the mundane landscape. We have no knowledge of where they are in particular; we are oblivious to what time, year, or day it is. The addition of random and weird characters only further emphasizes the piece s dissonance. But in this seemingly pointless attempt one is able to find Beckett s genius. Out of frivolous banter springs the profound significance of Beckett s critique. It s fortunate that Beckett shied away from public life; this way, it leaves his works more susceptible to reader interpretation, rather than having the facts scribed in stone. I happen to believe that Beckett meant for his play to be a statement about religion, particularly Christianity. The play is riddled with Biblical references, most of which aren t necessarily positive. I wouldn t consider them negative either. The most prominent characteristics about the Biblical suggestions are the contradictions. Close to the beginning of the play Vladimir is asked what he remembers about the Gospels, and he replies, I remember the maps of the Holy Land. Coloured they were. Very pretty. The Dead Sea was pale blue. The very look of it made me thirsty. That s where we ll go, I used to say, that s where we ll go for our honeymoon. We ll swim. We ll be happy. Later on he compares himself to Christ saying, All my life I ve compared myself to Christ. Estragon says that he follows in the footsteps of Christ but all he can remember about the book that tells his story is the pretty maps a blatant contradiction. This is an example of the many times during Waiting for Godot that Beckett takes shots at the typical Christian. I doubt that he was casting judgment on the religion itself, rather than those who claim to be a part of it. People associate themselves with a religion, but are selective in which practices they choose to follow. They pay most attention to the superficial details rather than making an honest effort to get into the depth of it all. But if their or another s character is called into question, they are quick to revert back to religion as a way to qualify their moral or civil nature. The word Godot undeniably sounds like God. This Godot is the reason that Didi and Gogo are where they are. I hardly believe that the two main characters are supposed to be laudable in their vigilance. To most people, I assume, they are quite pathetic. They don t do anything anything! They don t talk about anything of substance. They are lazy and rather stupid. From the first page on, I pictured them as two tramps. They wait in the middle of nowhere for no reason whatsoever. All we know, all they know, is that they are waiting for Godot, who, even by the end of the play, doesn t arrive. This is a statement about the complacency induced by Christianity or other religions. It s sort of like a spin off the clich, You re so heavenly minded that you re no earthly good. Some have a tendency to depend so heavily on their religion that they wait for God to fix all their problems for them, instead of taking the initiative and exerting the maximum effort on their own behalf. It s a comfort zone the if God wanted things to be different, he would have done it by now attitude. Once again, Beckett isn t striking at Christianity itself; he s attacking the subsequent attitude that often follows in its wake that prevents humanity from realizing the potency for action that we possess here on earth.

CASE- 3 Computer technology and the networked organization Essay

CASE- 3 Computer technology and the networked organization - Essay Example On the other hand use of networking systems will help me in gaining a competitive edge among all other restaurants operating in the same area. The entire facility will be well equipped with computers and other related devices networked with one another. Following is the brief description of the overall networking architecture. In order to establish Italian Food Restaurant I would require computer networking for customer orders, processing and delivery of services. Star topology would be most feasible for this purpose as it will integrate all computers connected to the central network (Risley, 2001). Although this particular setup might create bottlenecks in the data transference but that would be managed by security systems later discussed in this paper. Moreover, I would be needing protocol system for the provision of internet services. Wireless internet connection would be available to all employees and customers who might be willing to utilize it. Generally protocol is defined as a set of signals and rules which are used by the computers to communicate within the same network (Risley, 2001). Here, I would be using TCP/IP or Transmission Control Protocol for cross multiple and routable internet. LAN is a contemporary data network which can effectively and efficiently increase the customer service processes at the restaurant. It is most suitable for small geographic area. In typical circumstances it is used to connect personal computers, servers and printers with other devices. Moreover, LAN facilitates the file exchange, electronic mailing and other similar applications (Internetworking Technology Handbook, 2012). In the restaurant setting customers would be entering their orders at the main counter which will be directly transferred to the concerned department through wireless networking. Thereafter the responsible customer service staff member will carry out further

Robin Hood Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1500 words

Robin Hood - Essay Example One of the manuscripts says that Robin Hood was born in 1155. Another manuscript dates his birth in 1220; another one states that he was born between 1280 and 1290 and that he was a part of a rebellion movement against Edward II in 1320. In addition, there is a lot of confusion over the birth place of Robin Hood. The ballads states that he was born in Locksly, Nottinghashire. They also suggest that Robin Hood was the son of William Fitzooth, who was the owner of the land of Loxley. (Vahimagi 30-33) In the popular culture Robin Hood is portrayed as living in Nottinghamshire. Many of the early ballads took place in Nottinghamshire, and they showed Robin Hood and his men fighting in the forest of Sherwood. Some of the early references suggest that Robin Hood may have origins from the land of Barnsland which is now known as the South Yorkshire. (Potter 17) There are many different sources which tell us about different locations referring to be Robin Hood's true home. A tradition belonging to the sixteenth century suggests Loxley as a birth place of Robin Hood. There is a well in Yorkshire known as the Robin Hood's well which is associated with him as early as 1400. His grave is located in the West Yorkshire with a headstone of doubtful authenticity. (Potter 19-20) We find the first references to the rhymes of Robin Hood from a poem written in 14th century by Piers Plowman. From the earliest surviving copies of the ballads it is very clear that Robin Hood had special regards for wo men. He had remarkable skills as an archer and had anti-clerical beliefs. He had a very hostile attitude towards the sheriff of Nottingham, too. (Blamires 28) In popular culture Robin Hood is seen as the supporter of King Richard the Lionheart who was a king in the 12th century. Robin Hood became an outlaw because of the misrule of the king's brother John. One of the oldest ballads known as the Robin Hood and the Monk tells us that Robin Hood had a very little support as a partisan of the king. (Blamires 50-56) The early ballads also provide us with clear picture about Robin Hood's social status. He is named as a yeoman, the meaning of this word have changed over the time from aristocrat to free retainer and landholder. But this word was generally referred to the commoners. In the sixteenth century many attempts were made particularly through two famous plays known as Earl of Huntingdon and Anthony Munday to give Robin Hood noble status. The legend of Robin Hood was also transmitted into Robin Hood games and important plays which were presented in the May Day festivities in the late medieval and early modern times. We find the first record of Robin Hood games in Exeter in 1425. (Hahn 17) But no one was certain about how old this tradition was at that time. In the late fifteenth and sixteenth centuries Robin Hood games have flourished. Thorough May games, Maid Marian and a jolly friar connected with the legend. The ballads associated with Robin Hood connect him with recognizable places and there are many people in the world who believe and who are convinced that Robin Hood was a real hero and a real person. There are different theories to indentify the real Robin Hood and for each theory there are numerous supporters. According to some theories Robin Hood was his real name. Other theories suggest that

Folate Supplementation In Food Essay Example for Free

Folate Supplementation In Food Essay Generally, fortification of foods have proven beneficial to people over the past years as it restores the nutrients that may have been lost in food processing and also enhances the vitamins that the food contain. Examples of food fortification include the addition of Vitamin C, to an orange drink, Vitamin D to dairy products, and Vitamins B1 and B2 to bread, among many others. However, while food fortification is generally considered beneficial to consumers, a recent article, Folic Acid Fortification: One Size May Not Fit It All, which was published in Natural News. com, showed that foods fortified with folic acid increase the risk of colon cancer. While I am in generally in favor of the fortification of foods, the article made me think twice before consuming foods that are high in folic acid. Although the article showed that folic acid had a number of benefits, particularly the 20 per cent reduction of birth defects of the spinal cord and the central nervous system, it still had health risks which, for me, should be greatly considered before taking in foods that are high in folic acid. In addition, even though the number of benefits outweigh the risks when consuming food that are fortified with folic acid, I believe that food manufacturers, nutritionists and members of the health sector should further conduct a collaborative and in-depth study on folic acid-fortified foods before they are made available for public consumption. The findings of the study should be then showed to the public so that people are aware of the risks of eating too much of a certain food. Another option which I believe would greatly avoid the risks of consuming food fortified with folic acid is the modification of food labeling. At present, food labeling is mandatory. However, it only shows the amount of nutrients, carbohydrates, calories, cholesterol, and other contents of the food and not the risks associated with it. In this regard, I would recommend that food manufacturers label fortified foods which contain substances that have known health risks in such a way that the people or consumers can see what exactly the risks are. For example, if a food is high in folic acid, which were shown to increase the risks of colon cancer, its label should clearly indicate that too much consumption of this food can lead to the colon cancer or should at least contain a warning. Furthermore, I also believe one way to lessen the risks of consuming foods fortified with folic acid, is for the government to make the public more aware of the exact content of the food and the dangers associated with them. Nevertheless, the article stated that only those who consume too much food fortified with folic acid are at risk for colon cancer, which means that these kinds of food are relatively safe if consumed moderately. The bottom line is people should always be aware of the exact content of the food they are eating in order to avoid possible health risks.

The Argument of Romans Essay -- essays research papers fc

The Wrath of God Revealed   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Paul began his argument of Romans by proving that the Gentiles are sinners before God. Although God has revealed His truth to them, they have suppressed it, resulting in the darkness of their inner man and rebellion against God to the point of worshipping animals (1:18-23). As a result God gave them over to do the desires of their heart (1:24, 26): idolatry (1:25) and homosexuality (1:26-27). Seeing that they had no desire to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a depraved mind to do every sort of evil (1:28-31). The Jews Condemned Judgement According to Works   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Paul also addressed the Jews specifically warning them that if God judged the Gentiles who suppressed the revelation they had received, the Jews should not believe that they would escape the judgement of God simply because they had received the Law of Moses. These Jews were judging others for things that they did themselves, thinking they would escape punishment because they were Jews (2:1-3). Paul warned that they were storing up God’s wrath against themselves because they would not repent for their sins (2:4-5). God rewards or punishes individuals based on their works, not on their ethnic background or on their knowledge of the Law (2:6-13). Paul argued that the Gentile’s conscience would serve as the basis for their judgement (2:14-16) and the Law would serve as the basis for judgement for the Jew. Circumcision of the Heart   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Paul continued to condemn the Jew for feeling superior to the Gentiles because of their entrustment to the special revelation of the Law, even though the whole time they were being hypocrites by not living by the Law themselves (2:17-22). They were dishonoring God and giving the Gentiles reason to blaspheme God (2:23-24). Some thought that being circumcised justified their actions, but Paul made it clear that the Law only had value to those who lived by it, not to those who simply possessed it (2:25). If the uncircumcised lived by the Law, his actions would make it as though he was circumcised, and he would be able to judge the circumcised who only profess the Law (2:26-27). To be a true Jew is not only a matter of lineage but also a matter of having circumcision of the heart and whose praise comes from God rather than man (2:28-29). Therefo... ...5:1-6). Instead of rejecting one another over differences of opinion, the Jews and Gentiles were to accept each other, seeing that both groups of people are involved in God's plan (15:7-13). Reason for Paul’s Delay in Coming to Rome Salutation's to many people at Rome   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Although Paul was convinced of the churches spiritual maturity, he wrote to them to explain his reason for not coming to them sooner, and expressed his future travel plans, which included a trip to Rome (15:17-24). This trip would take place after he delivered the collection he was gathering to the saints at Jerusalem (15:25-29); a trip that Paul asked the Romans to help him with in prayer (15:30-33). Having finished his exhortations and commands, Paul finished his epistle by sending greetings to many individuals at the church in Rome (16:1-16), warning of false-teachers (16:17-20), sending greeting from his fellow-laborers (16:21), and giving glory to the God who was able to strengthen the church, and disclosed the mystery of the church to bring many to faith (16:25-27). Shakespeares Play Othello and Tim Blake Nelsons Film O

Throughout the course of time, societies views have been persuaded by contextual influences, yet the core human values have remained unaffected. Through the texts by composers William Shakespeare and Tim Blake nelson and their texts Othello and the late 20th century contemporary film O, the key values of trust, honesty and loyalty are explored with contextual influences being reflected. The values are explored with the use of thematic development of the key issues jealousy and appearance vs reality and the use of dramatic devices in Othello and cinematic techniques in O. Shakespeares accurate representation explored these values in an Elizabethan context where the values of loyalty, honour and fidelity were apparent. In contrast, Tim Blake nelsons film express similar views and attitudes to a more teenage-orientated audience and these values are replaced with modern contextual values such as popular culture, peer pressure and popularity. Jealousy plays a major role in Othello as it is the driving force which leads to the plays events being carried out. The theme of jealousy is prevalent through characterization and the dishonoring of the values of trust and loyalty. The character if Iago is the main who endures jealousy and dishonours trust and loyalty which in the end he uses as a method to lead Othello to his downfall. The Salem Witch Trials Essay - 1835 Words

By the end of the 17th century, one of the most devastating proceedings in American History took place. The Salem witch trials was one of the most catastrophic events worldwide in which people were accused, hanged, or sent to jail. During this time there was also a lot of chaos going on in Salem when some girls started accusing innocent people of being witches and being responsible for all the trouble that was going on the town. Even though not all those individuals were sentenced to death, there were still three causes or theories of why the Salem witch trials might have occurred and caused all this mess. Some of those reasons included that the girls could have been ergot poison, that they were bored because of the type of lifestyle that they had to live in, and because there was a sort of rivalry (jealousy) of land. After escaping from England because of religious persecution and settling in the United States (Salem, Massachusetts), the worst part was about to begin. When the puritans were settled in the new world, the theory that there could be witches was spread throughout the town. The most accused were the women because supposedly they were more vulnerable than men. For instance, the author declares, â€Å"Ministers preached repeatedly about the inferiority of women, using the biblical tale of Adam and Eve as evidence. Suspicion that a black person will always have the wrong intention and have a malicious plan when walking around a neighborhood, or whatever the case might be, is unjust and based on prejudice. As more of our black sisters and black brother’s lives are being taken away, the public begins to take this issue more seriously attemting to prevent from any more lives to be taken away by the police force, which is meant to keep us out of harm’s way and make us feel safe. As they set on the top of the Empire State Building, Ann was not afraid. They were glad and at ease in each other’s company. Much to Ann’s surprise and dismay, Kong was attacked by airplanes. She tried to waive them off but he was hit by many bursts of gunfire. Finally, there were too many bullets for Kong to remain alive. When Kong fell to his death, he looks at Ann. While Ann is crying, hundreds of people run to Kongs body. Peter Jackson, the director of the 2005 version, wanted to create the feeling he had while watching the original for a modern audience. In order to do this, he stuck to the original story as closely as he could and instead of updating the story, he expanded it. Peter Jackson was nine years old when he first saw the movie and was in tears in front of the television when Kong slipped off the Empire State Building. At age twelve he tried to remake the film using his parent’s camera and a model of Kong made of wire and his mother fur coat. His project did not turn out as planned so he gave up on it. King Kong was his inspiration and made him want to become a filmmaker. The irony in both films is very evident. Both films included the one great irony that sets this movie apart from others and leaves the audience feeling sympathy and empathy for Kong. In the beginning of both movies, we are shown a portrait of a man-eating monster, thirsting for the taste of human blood on his lips, but at the end we realize who is really the beast in this film the humans who took him out of his natural environment, only to make a spectacle of him for profit and fame, causing him to die a horrifying death. Ironic also is what the main character supposedly said at the end of the movie. According to Hunter (2005), a man tells Denham that the airplanes killed him, but Denham replies, It wasnt the airplanes. It was Beauty that killed the Beast. Both versions have similarities, but at the same time there are contrasts that show very distinct differences. For instance, the original sets a guideline for the plotline, scenes, and characters, but the remake changed it. Another difference in the versions can be seen in the characters. In the original, the main character seemed to focus more on the production of the movie he is producing. The main character was focused on making a movie that people will remember, rather than making a movie to get him rich. However in the remake, the main character was in the midst of a financial disaster and primarily was making a movie to restore value to the name â€Å"Denham† and to make money for him. Throughout the rest of the movie, there were subtle differences in the moods of the characters. For example, the captain in the original movie was nicer than the captain of the remake. Other differences are noted in the way the movies were made. While both were filmed in New York City and Harbor, the technology available for filmmaking during each production are vastly difference. King Kong in 1933 was made during the great depression. In 1933 the gigantic ape was made out of motorized parts and covered with fur. The movie was filmed in black-and-white and shows how light and sound cause different feelings in the audience. Cooper felt Creelmans final draft was too slow. Writer Ruth Rose was brought in to fix up the script. For example she showed how he was taken from the island and moved him right into the theater. She rewrote the dialogue to give it some spice and created the films entire opening part showing Denham plucking Ann from the streets of New York. In 2005 King Kong was digital and shot behind a green screen, and it helps with the computer animation. The computer-generated King Kong comes to life through two techniques: motion capture and digital animation. Motion capture is recording the movement of objects or people. In motion capture sessions, movements of one or more actors are sampled many times per second, early techniques used images from multiple cameras and calculate 3D positions; motion capture often records only the movements of the actor, not his or her visual appearance. Digital animation is used for generating animated images used by computer graphics. Modern computer animation usually uses 3D computer graphics although 2D graphics are still used. Jackson decided early on that he did not want Kong to behave like a human, and so he and his team studied hours of gorilla footage. Andy Serkis, who modeled his movement, went to London Zoo to watch the gorillas, but was unsatisfied. He ended up going to Rwanda to observe mountain gorillas in the wild. The resulting Kong is entirely a special effect, who acts and moves very much like a real gorilla. Paul (December 5, 2005). A significant difference exists between the impact King Kong in 1933 had on the leading actress versus the impact the King Kong movie of 2005 had on the leading actress. Almost any â€Å"Baby Boomer† and those born earlier who are still around can tell you the name of the actress who played the dangerous and believable role of the lady who feared for her life then turned protector of the one she feared. When you say â€Å"King Kong,† those mentioned able automatically think â€Å"Fay Wray,† the actress who screamed her way into n unforgettable role, and who blossomed from a helpless, frailty to a heroine for Kong. Fay Wray was a Canadian-born actress who was already a success in Hollywood. She had starred in role with such leading men as William Powell, Gary Cooper and Fredric March. Although she had these credits under her name, it was her screams of terror in King Kong during a time when the nation was in awe about the effects of the Gr eat Depression, for which she is most remembered and admired. In fact, her name became synonymous with King Kong. Conversely, who was the leading actress in the 2005 version of King Kong? The impact of the movie for that actress in association with the film was non-existent. While the 1933 version of King Kong was the number one movie of its time, the 2005 version of King Kong did not rate close to its parent. Works Cited Hunter, Stephen. King Kong: A Beauty of a Beast.
